9/14/2023 0 Comments Fileassistant psp![]() The aim of this project is to provide a stable and up to date file manager that makes use of updated tools, whilst offering a modernized and user friendly interace.ĬMFileManager PSP is the only homebrew that properly uses the 'move' function correctly for moving files/folder from one place to another. The user interface in this homebrew is heavily inspired and based on the LineageOS/CM file manager. Due out in march.CMFileManager PSP is a PSP application built using the unofficial PSPSDK and glib2d (modded). They have released the full sdks for their previous handhelds, this one will be open for development too. 480x272 widescreen display, hardware 3d, wifi, 64MB ram, 64MB flash, SD card slot, usb 2, tv out. The XGP would be another interesting platform for a port of Ogre. I haven't seen either bring legal force against the massive home brew community, but this is Sony we are talking about. Sony actively try to block access to running stuff on the PSP, and Nintendo put in protections whereby you have to violate a trademark or something for the rom to be recognised by hardware. PSP and GBA, on the other hand, are not intended for home brew. You can code for them with C++, C# and VB (using VS2005). Not only do Microsoft encourage 3rd party dev on pocket pcs (at least the windows based ones) but Visual Studio 2005 comes with a compiler, emulators and complete Windows Mobile OS rom dumps. ![]() Sinbad, does the pocket PC port fall under this legal haze? So I am all set up and once my PSP actually arrives I am going be able to put the stuff that I write on it and try out some new things! I am psyched! So whenever you finish up your PocketPC port (which I am also VERY interested in seeing once it's done) I am ready to kick in with the PSP! Just give me the word! FreeType has been ported to the PSP already, so that's one down! The PSPSDK comes with a version of STL and zlib so those are taken care of!!! (sweet!) This only leaves DevIL, ILU and possibly Zzip for the Ogre dependancies! I think we should go ahead and port Zzip, I think it would be very nice to have! It is now possible to run homebrew apps on a PSP's with firmware up to V2.0, so that means that most PSP's out today can run them without rolling back the firmware! It also means that you don't have to lose your web browser or any other nifty V2.0 stuff!Ģ. I also have been reading about PSP Development and have found out a few things!ġ. I have a PSP on the way from Ebay as I type. Ok, I have the PSP-Toolchain up and running and I have compiled a simple "Hello World" App. zLib and Zzip (although Zzip is only necessary for zipped assets) FreeType (which I believe has been ported) STLport (but PSPSDK comes with STL capabilities so we may not need it) The major dependencies that I think we'll aim for are: Like both of the other ports I've worked on, we'll start by getting the Ogre dependencies compiled for PSP, and then try to get OgreMain working. I read about some spliced together cable that allows for a serial connection but nothing yet on how that glues up to the debugger. They have GDB working, but no remote debugging capabilities yet and no kernel mode emulators. ![]() 7bce513ef8Īll of the tools are based on gcc and linux, so I don't want to scare anyone off, but this project is definitely for the Linux Ogre coders or anyone with a bit more programming experience. And there is another good explanation of how to get Visual Studio (my preferred environment) setup to compile with Makefile scripts for the PSP. This script will download, compile and install the entire PSPSDK and libs on your system. I recommend checking out this site for info on how to develop PSP apps: You'll need either a Linux development system or Windows with Cygwin ( ) ![]() There is good faq guide for setting up a development environment here: It also keeps the USB connection open so you can upload binaries to the mem stick. It's a homebrew app that knows how to execute unsigned PSP elf/prx code. You'll need FileAssistant loaded on the mem stick. A version 1.5/2.0 PSP that has been downgraded to 1.5 with a large mem stick (preferably 256mb or larger) ![]() Anyone wanting to help will need the following: However, I'm still commited to finishing off the PocketPC port, so be patient.įor the moment, I've shifted to the open source PSPDEV files. I figure one more port isn't going to kill me, and I was planning on doing it anyway. ![]()
